What is the name of your state? Arizona

We are planning to buy a home. We are wondering if my husband can buy it under his name, income and credit only? Then just have my name on the deed with his.

My credit is blemished due to a past divorce which caused me to file BK. I am a full time student now so we only have his income which is fine and his credit is excellent. Will they still check my credit even though I wont be on the loan?

Thank you for your help. What is the name of your state?

Yall might argue with me and call me names but I know you can do it. If your husbands credit is good enough to buy the home under his name then yes. My husband and I just bought our first house. He was in florida and I did everything from a specific POA. Let me tell you right now get a Specific POA just to let the mortgage company talk to you if your not on it. Very annoying faxing that in and waiting because they won't talk to you. (Got a tax bill in the mail and hubby out to sea with US Navy) My name is on the title of the house but not on the mortgage. My credit is fine but we didn't need to do it under my name as he qualified under his own. I hope that helps
