Hello.I am in NY, and I have had a cellular phone from sprint. I had no contract with them,but when talking to customer service one day, I decided to cancel because the deals they offered at the moment with contact were so much better.
Talking to the rep, he told me he could get me the better rate and if I didnt get the contract I could get the extra minutes for $10 more.
I almost got into a contract because the deal was so much better then my current plan. To into the contract I was supposed to enter my social security number, but then I hung up because I didnt want to get into the contract.
Later my bill was less, but I assumed it was because the
rep changed my plan to a cheaper plan.
When I cancelled I got a bill stating I broke the contract and owe $150+ taxes for the cancellation fee for a contract
I talked to a new rep, and they I was getting the rate a person on a contract gets, so I was under contract. When talking to the original repI was told I would be under contract if I had to input my social security number which I never did. Am I obligated to pay the $150 cancellation fee?
baisically, I assumed I got this better deal because the rep did not want me to cancel my service (it was one of those reps that they send you to that talk you into staying). So I am not sure.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
