What is the name of your state?AZ
I bought a car in December. Got into an accident in Febuary and totaled it. I had no insurance. I thought I had but I misunderstood what the dealership was telling me his english was poor and I should have read it more carefully. I had GAP insurance and comprehensive only. I was paying 700.00 for six months and thought it included liability. It did not. My license was suspended. Now, the DMV is saying I must have an SR22 and my privileges will be to and from work only. That's too much. I would like to throw myself on the mercy of the court. Do I have any recourse?

**A: you would not have gotten in trouble and a suspended license for not having liabilty insurance so that is NOT the issue. What is the COMPLETE story here?

Really? Well that's where I am.
I did mention that I got into an accident. It was my fault. I didn't mention that. I was supposed to take one of those driving classes so I dont get points against me, but when I showed up for the class the instructor siad I had to go back to court for a special approval. I never got back to court soon enough (no one gave me a specific date and part of the problem of not having transportation) so I asked the judge if I could still participate in the class. He said no, I waited to long so the ticket is on my record he said, the a$$hole. So I paid the ticket. Now this SR and restricted issue from the DMV. I pretty much covered everything.
