What is the name of your state? Texas
I entered the US legally on a B2 visa, and just got married to a US citizen. We will be filing our papers to adjust my status as soon as our lawyer returns, but I want to apply for my SS before that and ASAP as I want to be able to buy a car, go to school, work part time/volunteer etc. while I wait for my paperwork to get done. The only document I have to prove my alien resident status is my B2 visa, and I believe that will not be sufficient for me to get a regular SS. So in order for me to apply for SS before I do the paperwork for PR, will it be sufficient to submit my marriage license to prove my eligibility?
Thanks in advance!
