My husband recieved his paycheck only to see that $100 extra was deducted out of his social security tax. The person in charge of payroll told him that this was to account for the error that they had been making in social security taxation over the course of the year and just discovered it now and so they deducted it from his pay. Is this legal? Can the company do this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

SS deduction

If the $100 deduction did make up for an error in deducting SS, then it is legal.
