SSI and joint mortgage

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

Me and my mom are looking to buy a house. She is on social security survivors benefits and pensions from my dad who died. I get SSI. If we got a home together both on deed and mortgage. and we each paid half of the mortgage and utilities and each bought our own food and personal stuff and so forth... would her paying half count as in kind support... or would it be like we are renting and i'm paying my fair share? I can't find details on this... i know someone paying your mortgage is inkind support but in this case it be our mortgage and each would be paying half the bills direct to the billers.

If you live together and it is just the two of you and you are a homeowner and you pay 1/2 of the mortgage, property taxes, property insurance, gas, electricity, fuel oil, water, sewer and garbage and buy your own food, there will be no in-kind income from your mother paying the other half.

Not quite clear what you are asking ...perfectly fine to split expenses any way you want it ...perhaps smarter to,have a written agreement. INCLUDING break up rules if such is ever needed .

IF you mean whommight be whose dependant for any tax reasons / benefits take the. IRC rules lay them out on paper and plug in numbers andmseemwhatmworks, if anything . IT may be smart to be unbalanced IF that makes the rules and numbers work and one clearly and honestly supports the other.
