What is the name of your state? OR
My son has been on SSI since he was a baby. I purchased a used minivan in 2003 and had it modified with DHS's help/funding. I was contacted last week by SSA and questioned about the van, she told me that I am allowed to have a vehicle. She wanted to know if anyone co-owned the vehicle with me and who that person is. The state of oregon also has a loan on the vehicle for the modifications. She then said she would contact my tanf worker and let her know. She wanted also to know what I thought it was worth and I told her approx $1000. which is under the resource limit because it needs some repairs and is rusting and smells like mold due to the windows leaking. I know I reported to SSA when I purchased the van because I had to trade in my other van for this one. Is there anything I should be worried about?

I do not believe you have to worry . SSA.com has a host of information.

Most states also allow for a person to own a vehicle under programs .
