What is the name of your state? FL
I have a friend who is a Real estate Broker, who is willing to sponsor me for my real estate license. The issue is, I have to have a SSN to obtain the FL license. I have been a legal resident of the state for 3 years and am in the process of obtaining a work permit (H-2 visa) to stay here. Do I have to wait to start my tests/examinations for the license due to this, or can I obtain an inactive license and later on activate it once I have a SSN.

We use the SSN number to identify people here in the USA - so everyone needs one.

I understand that I need one. My question was, can I proceed with the exam and tests and collect the license when I hand over my SSN? Or Do I have to wait to get my SSN before I can even start the Real Estate Classes?

That's not what you originally asked. You can start your classes now if the real estate school will accept you as a student without a SSN. You will not be able to apply for your license without a SSN and you may be required to have a SSN to sit for the test.
