Virginia. I was hoping someone could enlighten me on law regarding statutes of limitations. Say that two people get in an argument on Sept 1, 2002. Person A decides to file Assault charges against Person B on Aug. 31, 2003. If there is a 1 year st. limitation on Assault - can Person B no longer file counter-charges assault (say on Sept 2 or 3). What is the deal (is it doable?) with waiting until the last moment inside the st. of limitations so that countercharges can't be filed? Hope that makes sense.
