Hello,

I am starting a lawyer referral service primarily to the low income community. I intend to screen applicants and cases presented and direct those cases to attorneys law firms in my database who are willing to take on consignment cases.

my question is i do intend to charge a fee for placement to my clients both to the law firm and the clients which most will be paid at time of settlement. As my data base will be for mostly consignment cases, what does the law say about such fees, what amounts are reasonable?

I recently had a case taken on consignment by a firm. they asked for 33% of monies acquired. I asked for no fee. but as i start my business i need to put a fee structure in place.

is it just open to my discretion and negotiation?

Based on the OP's other threads, I think she ought to stay far far away from this line of work
