Hi,

I have been hit by a student who two weeks ago. He told me that he had a real big exam coming up in two weeks and asked me nicely if he can take care of the damage after two weeks which I agreed. I have all his information including license and insurance but because the accident was minor and he agreed to pay me under the table. Now two weeks later he is saying that the statue of limitation on car accident is two weeks and I can't do anything about it. Is he correct? I am a californian.

Thanks
Eric

My response:

Take the little Scam Artist to Small Claims court. The S.O.L. on property damage in California is 3 years. If you suffered personal injuries, that S.O.L. is one year.

His test must have been on the subject of "How to Scam People Without Really Trying".
