I used to live in Ohio, but have been living in PA for the past 1.5 years. I am currently going through my credit report and cleaning up outstanding and incorrect debts.

Would the SOL apply to where the debt was originated or where I currently live now?

I figured it is where I was living at the time of the debt

The SOL is irrelevant when it comes to your credit report, anything over 7 years old drops off but does not relieve you from any legal obligations to pay.

The statute of limitations that applies is that of the state they file the action with (though some state's have in their limitations statutes some shortening in the case the transaction involved a state with shorter limitations). As ec points out, most states toll (turn off the timer) when the defendant is not physically present in the state. As pointed out SOL applies to filing lawsuit, not reporting to credit bureaus. By the way, both Ohio and PA have very long statute of limitations on written contracts.
