I was partners in a small company in Missouri. My partner held liabilities for bank notes and I had loaned the company equal or better amounts during the course of business. The company closed in August of 1998. At the end my partner threatened to suit for the amount of bank notes. While he cannot win a judgment, a lawsuit would be costly to me. He can easily afford to stay in court a long time while I can not. What is the statute of limitations on a case like this?
