about 30 years ago(1976-1977) I took out a student loan to a beauty college and never paid it back. We filed bankruptcy around 1980 and I listed that creditor. Now after all this time a collection bureau is calling me to collect. In the past 20 years I have never received anything from the student loan and I have moved around but not that I couldn't be found by my social security number and I always put in a change of address. What is the statute of limitations for a student loan to collect and when did they change the law that you cannot file bankruptcy on a student loan and is this legal?What is the name of your state?
