I did a real estate deal in which the person I did the deal with said via contract there were no incumbrences. Within three months the city foreclosed due to him having not paid taxes. What is the statutes of limitations for this?

1.NC has some very strict time limited redemption rules ...you study up and Monday you review any options to redeem you might have with a lawyer familiar with NC tax sale procedures
2. You plan on suing the seller for breech of contract ...get started...if the seller or the funds "disappear " then suing an empty pot is of no value .
3. You were certified unwise to buy real estate without a bring down search....use a pro starting Monday

Its pretty darn easy to look up...and the SOL for a contract is 3 years.... but the time limits to redeem your property , if such a window is open, is entirely different and far far shorter....go look it up.
