As stated in my earlier question, I am trying to get our deposit back after a less-than-ideal inspection report. I think the seller is peeved because we didn't give them the inspection report. It does not state in the contract that we are required to, and we probably would have except that now they are being difficult by not signing the release of our money from escrow. Does anyone know what the time frame is for "immediate" return of a deposit upon cancelation of a contract? The 'transaction' agent has no clue. She has refered us to the attorney in charge of the escrow account - who pays this attorney? I certainly don't want any of this nonsense to be paid for out of our deposit. Has anyone else had this problem?
