What is the name of your state? ca

two years ago i bought stock in a web based startup company. ireceived the legal paperwork showing that i owned the stock. since receiving this paperwork i have not had any correspondence from this company. it is my understanding that they are no longer in business. however i do not know this for sure.

are they required by law to send me timely information related to corporate minutes, board meetings, financial status and other items of interest to stockholders?

if so and i have not received this information what course of action is available to me?
