Once a subscription to a stock photo service (like Shutterstock) expires, can the photos downloaded and used during the service continue to be used? Or does an organization need to maintain an active license to continue use of those images?

1: US Law Only
2: Your answer(s) will reside within the licensing terms that were agreed upon.

What is the name of your state?

The terms and conditions of the license you were granted determine how long you can use the photos.

This would likely vary depending on the site. All the ones that I have used do not specifically mention an expiration date. They do all say something along the lines of "This license can be terminated at any time at our discretion". It's always made me wonder if they are obligated to notify you of such termination? If in doubt, I would simply contact the website directly.

We are still waiting on the name of Malunel's state (or country, if he is not in the US).

Licensing terms can vary in significant ways. The specific terms and conditions for use must be read carefully and understood fully to make sure the rights you are granted address your needs.
