My fiancee bought a 1987 Chevy Blazer, got a new title and everything to make it legal. When she bought it, there was a problem with the electrical system, which her Ex said he could fix. He never got around to it, and she decided to sell the truck. She talked to a guy she worked with, and he said, he'd like to take a look at it before he bought it.

She had it towed to his house, and he was supposed to survey it, and decide whether to buy it or not. He never called her to say yeas or no. This was about 10 months ago, and we finally found out where he now lives and where he works. He works with some friends of our, so she left a message for him at work regarding the vehicle. He told his co-workers that he was never going to call her, and gave 2 different stories to different people.

Story 1: It was a gift.

Story 2: She never gave me the title, so I'm not giving her any money.

What recourse do we have to get the money, or the truck back?

I'm considering just calling the police and reporting it stolen.

Thanks for any input,

Matt

Is it drivable??

If so, go get it. She did keep a key didn't she???
If not, get your title and hire a tow truck to go get it.

Status Update

The guy was living in an apartment at the time, and the vehicle was unregistered. According to the law here in CT, you can't keep an unregistered vehicle on any kind of property. The vehicle has been impounded. What recourse if any do we have now?

Go get the vehicle, pay the impound fees. Sue him to recover your damages (fees paid).
or
Forget about it and move on.
