What is the name of your state? washington I have a peice of property that I bought 13 years ago. My neibore bought the peice behind me the same year.Eleven years ago I built a shop that blocks her legal easement.I put in a dirt road that goes around My shop and gave her verbal permission to use it. Scince the legal easement has been blocked for more than ten years, can I block-off the road that I installed and terminate the easement by prescription ? This lady dose not live in this state . She only shows up in the summers and harrasses my family by hanging out in the woods video-taping my wife and kids while on my property, painting my trees, driving too fast through my property. I have a restraining order on her but she comes and goes befofe the police can get here.I have been told that I can take her easement by perscription. Is this true ? or maybe another solution? I apperciate any advice I can get. Thank you.

You may have been told you can 'take' her easement by prescription, but if you were not told by a judge in your state, then you can't.

Besides, you've violated the standing easement. Be glad she has not sued you for removal of the shed.

By the way, I suggest you ask a REAL ESTATE attorney what types of lawsuit you've opened yourself up to.

And what gave you the right to do this?
I never get why people don't put their danged improvements in the RIGHT place right off the bat. Seems that removing or moving them after the fact is SOOO much more expensive than doing it right in the first place!
