What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NM
In May, 2006 I got a DUI in Arizona. Since then my record has been flawless.
I recently moved from Arizona to New Mexico, due to my wife's job and had to get a New Mexico License. In order to get an NM License I was forced to get an interlock installed in my car (although I have already payed the consequences 4 years ago). I am looking to relocate to either Colorado or New York for work, but I am required to have a valid license in those states. Can I get the interlock device taken off my car and a valid license if I leave New Mexico? It doesn't make any sense that a DUI conviction that happened 4 years ago and is clear off my record might be preventing me, just because I moved to New Mexico. Any advice would be helpful, thank you.
