My wife has a student loan from texas guaranteed student loans and the payments are $125 a month. She was behind in her payments and paid $250 in december to bring it up to date. She missed jan. and feb. and owes $375 for march. They called today saying that they were going garnish her wages. we tried to set up a payment and they said it was to late. they said that it was already in process and they wouldn't accept any payments. On the last payment notice, it did say to contact them or her wages could be garnished. Can they legally garnish this quickly and is their any other way to deal with them to set up payments?
