I just found this website and thought maybe someone could help give some insight or advice.

Here's my situation. I went to a trade school called Brooks College. Basically got screwed over big time. While I was enrolled there the financial aide department called me in and told me that I didn't get enough government aide to pay for all my tuition, and board. They said I needed to take out a student loan.

After having all these thoughts shoved at me of how I'm going to get this great job with the schools help once I graduate I thought it wouldn't be a big problem to get a some reasonalbe loan. I was only 17 and after having to grow up very quickly when my only parent died when I was 14 I trusted the financial aide department to tell me the truth. Never once was I told what the interest rate would be how long I had to pay off the loan, nothing! Just you can pay it off once you graduate. OK!

Well after getting the first loan, I get called in again, and again, and again for a 4th time. "You still need more money" they told me. Then, low and behold they called me in for a 5th time. Only this time Sallie Mae told me "No more money for you!". So now what? I have no money, no one to co-sign, no one to help pay. I tried to get a job for a while but the school was way too demanding and I couldn't keep up with a full-time job as well. So I ended up having to drop out of the school, with no degree, and no good job.

Here I sit, on top of $50,000 worth of student loans and interest that I can't pay because I don't have the money. I have a good paying job for the area that I live in, but it's not enough to even begin to cover the payments for interest only! I've tried talking to Sallie Mae and they can't do anything. My loans almost went into default this last December, but I was able to defer them for another 3 months. This is my last bit of deferred time though. After this 3 months pass, I'm totaly screwed. I can't have my wages garnished, I barely make enough to live off of now!

I have no idea what to do and feel like I'm drowning. I guess it doesn't help that in the past I've been suicidal and I feel like I might be starting to head down that road again. If anyone has any advice or knows anything that may help, please give it to me. I'm sodesperate at this point. Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopfully being able to help.

*NEW INFO*

I just found out from a friend that the school I went to closed, and I received something in the mail saying that the school I went to is being sued for lying on Financial Aid circumstances and a bunch of other stuff. Does this affect my situation?
