What is the name of your state? Texas If a student gets permission from the school superintendent to go to a charter school in the summer to get a class out of the way so him can do dual credits the next school year, Can the superintendent who signed off on this 9 months later change his mind about taking the grade. He has said the student will get a 70 instead of the 96 he earned or possible not figuring the grade in at all for Class Ranking purposes. If we had known this to start with we would not have spent $300.00 to get a 70. This grade puts the child 2nd in his class, without it he is in 3rd. The school board has agreed with the superintendent. If we had not checked into this with the Superintendent and Counselor first , I would say this is an expense decission I should had check into more, but I went though the proper channels first. What should I do next?

hard to say what the law is, other than to say, as a general rule, students suing schools over grades doesn't go over too well.

try to work it out with the administrators, hopefully they'll see it your way. when that is definitely not going to work, see an attorney. a nasty letter from an attorney might change their minds or might not. then theoretically you could sue, but sounds like more trouble than it is worth and you'd probably lose.

Yes, I have a copy of the paper the school had to sign saying they would except the grade and all the logged in hours that he spent all summer taking the course. When he turn the grade in it was excepted but now 9 months later it is not.
