What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MN

I went through a divorce and things did not go well financially for me. Ok, so when I filed my taxes, I was supposed to pay in $2,000. I knew there was no way on my current income I was going to be able to do that, so I lied on my income taxes and said that I had a home business where I made $2,000 but that with all my expenses I ended up loosing money and that offset the money I would have had to pay in to income tax.

So... now I am filing for bankrupcy and had to provide my tax info. Now the Justice Department wants proof of this income I received from my business. I obviously have no proof. I am scared to tell my lawyer because I am afraid I'm going to end up going to jail for lying on my income taxes and providing fraudulent documents.

This was an absolutely stupid thing to do and I know it. Beleive me, I've learned my lesson and will never again lie on my income taxes, I just can't beleive it has snowballed into this big of a thing. So what do I do? Do I tell my attorney that I completely lied? And what's going to happen? Will I get a fine? Jailtime? And will I loose my nursing license over this? Please help...

Absolutely disclose this to your attorney.
Got no idea what happens from here but, your lawyer can't help you if he doesn't have all the details.
