sorry kiddo, you have no rights to a renewal lease in NYC unless you had been real smart 9 years ago and rented an apartment that had a rent stabilized lease then you would be guarented renewals for life.

So who do you pay rent to the owner of the building or the owner of your apartment?

If it is to the owner of the co-op building you may and i stress may be entitled to a rent stabilized renewal....

Do you have your original lease you should, and is it really a co op do people own their own apartments there?

If not it could be an Illegal sublet and you could be entitled to a lease an MONEY from the overcharge or rent.

So you have to be very specific about your rental, so start explaining.

But lets face it a $25 a month increase each year is a STEAL and people would give anything to live in your apartment, and probably pay the landlord HUNDREDS more a month then you,

SO either get a part time job, sign the lease or start packing.
