What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Im in ga but ive been subpoenaed to Fl. My aunts brother was released from on parole, (sex offender) He was released to a parole officer in GA where my aunt lives but he served in FL. After violating his Parole he was sent back to FL. The event in question that his attorney are fighting involves me being over at my aunts with my son (age 4). I have been subpoenaed to go to court In south FL to testify on his behalf. I do not have reliable transportation to make the nearly 400 mile trip down to FL, I do not have a baby sitter for that week, and i am in school taking a internship that is already tight on time for hrs. His defenders assistant delivered the subpoena in person and i told him all this then he said there was no way outta it and i would be reimbursed for expenses but i have no money to pay for the expenses before the reimbursement. Is there anything i can do? anyone other then his defenders i can talk to about giving my statement in writing or video, they will not let me talk to the attorney himself they keep sending me his assistant.
