What is the name of your state? Indiana
A friend of mine received a subpoena to apprear from the other parties insurance company. He put in for vacation time from work to go. I think that he should ask for time off without pay, and make them (other party) pay him for his time, instead of his having to use his of vacation time. Can anyone tell me if this is right or not? Thanks, Janet

My response:

He's only entitled to his statutory appearance fees and mileage costs from the subpoenaing party - - both amounts of which are very small.
