I bought a condo 7 months ago and now have a problem with a shower drain that leaks. Can I sue the previous homeowner for the needed repairs?

That's a real estate law question, not insurance law.

Homes do not come with a lifetime or long term warranty, unless you buy insurance. If the leak developed after you bought you'd have no basis for a claim. If it was a pre-existing leak the owner knew about and lied about in writing, depending on your state you may have a basis for complaint.
