What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX
I was sued by my landlord because he evicted me b/c he didnt like that fact I didnt pay a repair bill, yet he owed me money so I never paid him until he paid me basically, but in the end I guess he bit me in the butt.
Regardless my overall question is I did go to small claims and he wanted 9,000 and was awarded 4500.
How can he get this money legally, I always hear that its hard for them to collect and thats the bigger battle.
I recieved a letter from the courts that just said what I owe him and with a 6% interest is all.
So if I paid him 50 a month with a 6% intrest is there anything he can do, he seems to want this debt paid within a year well he said 6 months, then max 1 year I just basically never responded to his text message and if I didnt respond within 24 hours of it he would take next next step in his own hands.
Is there a timeline, or what if I never pay, I don't own a house, so I know the own lein ordeal, and I was told if I had a vehicle in a household he couldnt put a lein on it, b/c it would be exempt.
Any help would be appreciated.
