What is the name of your state? Arizona

A federal agent legally searched my home computer looking for the sale of a non narcotic medication. During his search they found adult pornagraphy on my home computer (who hasnt looked). He notified my employer that he found adult pornagraphy on my home computer which had nothing to do with his investigation he told my employer to look for adult pornagraphy on my work computer for no other region other than to inflict as much pain as he possibly could. Of course nothing was found on my work computer, he did this out of shear malice becuase his legal search found nothing and proved I was innocent of the allged crime. Can I sue this guy for intionally defaming my name to my employer? I have this in his report.

Your facts are weird and weird is hard. Even if there was a tort committed, there is no way you could sue on it without a lot of help and time. You would need an attorney.

The problem with getting an attorney is that there does not seem to be a constitutional violation here. This means the attorney will not have a chance to use 42 U.S.C. 1988 to try to get his fees paid. I'm not sure as there might be some obscure statute about information disclosure. An attorney will not take the case on contingency unless the damages were great. If you lost your job because of the disclosure, it might make some attorney think he could do something worth his time. Finally, I'm guessing you won't want to pay someone a couple hundred dollars an hour for many, many hours on the chance you might get something.

Sorry. Unless your damages are greater, even if what the officer did was wrong, you will not see your day in court. Make a complaint to his agency if you're still angry. Otherwise, I'd let it go.
