My 21 y/o daughter is going to court (we're in a continuance now) within the next few months. She is being charged w/ possession (pot), intent (scale & money) and this isn't her first dealing regarding pot, but the intent is obviously the kicker. She was in jail for 2 days when her dad bailed her out and she did go to 1 outpatient meeting at a drug facility the following week (big deal in my opinion)
Last week she found out that they weren't going to drop the felony charges and she OD'd on her prescription meds. She's been under psych care for over 4 years, but not with a whole lot of success med. wise. She is currently in a Mental Health facility for another few days and is begging for her dad or me (divorced) to take her out on an AMA (against medical advice). I was the originator of the 302 and this was her 4th attempt in the past 4 years, all w/ prescription meds. This is the closest she came to not making it. She denies everything (it was an accident, the blood tests came back wrong, I've f***** up her life etc., says she does NOT drink, she will be worse when she gets out, etc.) She was dually diagnosed w/ bi-polar, borderline pers., ADHD and alcohol addiction. Her dad is willing to AMA her if "I" take her home...huh? My tough love counselor (I've been seeing for 18 mths) tells me she needs 30-90 day in-treatment but she's resistant to everyone and is only willing for 3 day/week out-patient and is currently trying to sue the hospital that saved her life and the current facility for her "rights" being taken away (it's a locked facility)
While I was getting clothes for her (she does not live with me), I found a WAD of $ and a ledger of who owes her. After putting 2 & 2 together, her main selling wasn't pot, but the narcotics (prescription drugs) she was getting legally, but not taking. I also saw paper where she was trying to forge a prescription. And last, but not least, she works/ed (not final yet) at a pharmacy! I want to bring this info to her lawyer, but fear she won't get the true help she needs if it's destroyed. I want to do what is best for her. I need some advice instead of using my fuzzy beat-up brain.
