I live in NC and I'm confused about an issue. I live in a 3 bedroom with 2 other girls. 1 girl bailed on the lease after about 3 months. The last month she was living here she refused to pay rent. All 3 of our names are on the lease and we signed at the same time. The landlord suggested we sue the 3rd girl. I've heard conflicting stories about our chances of winning. Do you think we have a chance? If a judgement is declared in our favor, how do we collect? If I understand what I've read so far it's up to us to collect. This girl has no personal property to speak of...ie: anything of significant value.

Thank you for your time.
