hey, you owe me some bucks!
state: virginia/pennsylvania
facts:
-currently 32 years old residing in VA; 3.5 years employed with current company; have been employed since 1989
-1986-After highschool (PA) entered college in VA
-1986- I established personal student loans to pay for the majority of this college; parents agreed to pay balance
-I have always been responsible for these student loans (approx. $20,000)
-after 3 years of college I was asked to leave due only to a chronic unpaid balance on my student account (student loan monies were being forwarded, it was the balance owed by my parents that was not being paid)
-as with most, if not all, institutions, one can not continue to the next semester without the previous semester having been paid in full-this college wasn't any different
-I was unaware of my mother's "style" of convincing this college the money would be paid and to let me continue (they let me continue for nearly 3 years)
-in the spring of 1989 I was forced to leave because my mother had not made a payment to them.
since then:
-I had to establish a means of income immediately after having to leave college to pay my bills and debts
-I moved to Virginia
-Due to the lack of the degee from this college, I have been unable to seek job and career opportunities in the field in which I went to college to study, and additionally, I have been unable to seek the compensations one might expect with a degree
-I have financially burdened over the years having to pay money to an institution that I don't have degree from. I believe my opportunties were cut short not having been able to graduate.
-my mother will not acknowledge this debt
-I beleive the college brought a suit against her some years ago (I do not know the details)
-my mother has always been financially irresponsible.
suit:
-I wish to get back the majority of the money I have paid to the student loan institution from my mother
-I also wish to sue my mother for the monies potentially gained
please advise. many thanks.
