In 1997 I hired an attorney for medical reimbursement monies my ex-husband owed me-- I paid for our child's medical bill in full, sent the claims into the insurance co. and he received the reimbursement checks. Three years later my attorney told me that it won't be worth it to go after him for the money he owed. The reason being - the money would then go straight to him for attorney fees. I argued with him about how I would not be disappointed nor unhappy because it was the principal... he refused to go after him. I paid him money over those three years and that was the reason why I contacted and hired him? Is this legal malpractice or is he just an ass (pardon my language)?
