Me and my ex moved in to an apartment together. We've only lived here for two months. I just had a baby so i've been out on a maturnity leave, not making half as much as i would if i was at work. So he decided to get a second job to pick up a little extra slack. But once it came time for the rent to be due, he leaves the night before and i only had half my rent money. I'm suing for
$568.99 which includes 387.50 for rent 50.00 for the late fee 35.00 for the bounce check fee in their bank 18.00 bounce check fee from my bank and 48.49 for long distance calls to new york. He seems to believe that he won't have to pay me if he goes to the judge and say he didn't live here he uses my address. But as long as I have mail in his name, shouldn't I be able to show proof of residency? His license also has my address on it. As well as other court cases he has through the same court house i would be filing the from has this same address on record. Is there a good chance I would be able to win this case.
