What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC

I was given a summons today for Orally communicating threats. The plaintiff quotes me as saying "you are a dead man""i am going to kill you". The plaintiff was harrased in the bathroom in my place of employment weeks earlier on a nite that i wasnt even there. I am certain he has me confused with another person. I know who is responsible for the bathroom incident however. Or is he blatantly lying. The plaintiff called me at work days ago asking me if was the guy that threatened him in the bathroom that nite. He seemed to think i was. I was not in the building that nite. My employer wants to accompany me to court and testify to that. I want to defend myself as this is a big mistake. any advice is welcomed.
