I received a summons on 7/17/03 to appear in court in November for nopayment of hospital bills 1 from 9/99 and 3 from 2001 total 1,275 including lawyers fees. I called the creditor directly (first I called their lawyer, who told me to call the credit bureau directly for payment). The person in the legal department told me $638 downpayment and $125 per mo and it must be received by 8/15/03(today)( I called 8/13/03). This is for about 4 hospital bills. I called today to try and get the amt lowered but she wont be in today and nobody else can help. Can I just bring in an amt close to that and they have to accept it? Or send it certified. Why did she give me until today? Do I have to still respond to the court if I'm making payments with the credit bureau?

Thanks
