What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

I'm just looking for clarification of the definition used in MI's Child Support Formula Manual...

For support, the definition states:
1.03 (A) Support refers to the payment of money for a child or a spouse ordered by the court,
and may include payment of the expenses of medical, dental, and other health care,
child care expenses, and educational expenses. MCL 552.602(ee) contains a statutory
definition of support.
1.03 (B) For the purposes of this manual, a child support obligation includes payment for the
general care and needs of a child, medical support, health care coverage, and child
care.
1.03 (C) A support obligation includes separately calculated figures for the base support
(calculated in Sections 3.01 - 3.05), ordinary and extraordinary health care expenses,
provision of health care coverage (Section 3.07), and child care expenses (Section
3.08).

Looking at the section 1.03 (C) section, is the separately calculated figure for ordinary and extraordinary health care expenses included in the final support order or is there something stating a separate payment should be made? Hubby and his ex did not go through FOC (they opted out), so the payments aren't being garnished, he is doing them himself. Is the extraordinary medical already rolled into the support payment, or has he screwed up and should now pay the additional amount? It is unclear in the CO, which reads:

It is further ordered that commencing December 1, 2006 Plaintiff shall pay directly to the Defendant $Xxxx.xx per month for child support and child care combined, pursuant to the Michigan Child Support Guidelines shared economic responsibility formula.

and then in a separate section says:
Supplement for Ordinary Health Care expenses to be paid by Payer: In addition to child support, Payer shall pay to Payee, for ordinary health care expenses, $Xx.xx per month for two minor children. It is presumed that, over the course of a year, Payee will expend at least this amount each month for ordinary health care for the child.

Any thoughts? He'd rather be safe than sorry...while there's still time to catch up.

I would think he has to pay both amounts....the statute or handbook that you quoted indicates health expenses MAY be included....his order specifies that support and child care are rolled into one amount and then it specifies a separate additional amount for health expenses

I agree, I don't think that there is anything ambiguous about his orders.
