What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia

My military retirement has been garnished for back child support for the past 4 years now. The original judgement was in the state of Florida. When I moved to VA, I recieved the order that my retirement pay was being garnished.
According to my ex spouse, she recieves minimal funds, if any and I'm wondering why. Also, it appears they, (State of VA), are charging interest in the total back support I owe. I do not have the funds to pay this in full and it seems like this will be a never ending thing.

Did your ex ever recieve any public assistance?
If so, part of the money garnished could be going to the state to reimburse them for benefits paid.

Unfortunately, when interest is added, it can take many years to pay off arrears.
Is the judgement still in FL?
If so, try talking to the DOR CSE about the interest, Florida law does allow them to waive interest in some situations.
