supposed libel on a message board...

Iowa, Okay i dunno what exactly to do on this...my boyfriend runs a message board for people to post about music,shows,pretty much anything.Well the thing is that some people on the board tend to say their feelings about other people,they dont state they know things for a fact they say they head stuff like that.Well now someone is coming back saying they have legal standing to monitor this message board and what not and they are saying they can sue my boyfriend because he never stopped the "libel".well my boyfriend can always block the peoples names but they make new ones and use new computers so really there is no way for him to always guarantee that people wont say things about other people.He does go in and delete posts that are inappropriate.I just want to know if there is any type of legal action these other people can take because of libel. Also im wonderig about freedom of speech and what u can and cannot say on message boards.

The reason your boyfriend isn't blocking the messages is:

1. He's read and understood the U.S. Constitution;
2. He agrees with the opinions expressed, or;
3. He knows and understands the requirements for libel and knows you're blowing hot air if you think you have anything but a whine and moan.
