Surfing adult web sites

What is the name of your state? California.

Hello everybody! This issue has been nagging me for a long time. I am an adult, and in my private time at home, I surf the internet and often check out the adult websites. My questions:

(1) Is it legal in California to view adult web sites? Are there any states in USA where it is illegal? When one surfs the net, there is no way to know which state the web site is located in. Does that mean I don't need to worry about it?

(2) Often the pictures and movie samples depict "19 year old teens", as they say. I wonder, what if that ain't the truth? Can I be held liable if that teen is under-age, even though I may not know it?

(3) Sometimes, some annoying pop-up windows - which show up even if you wish they go away - show links like "click here for illegal blah blah...". I hope they are bluffing, but in any case, can I be liable for accidentally reaching a website with illegal content?

Thank you in advance for your inputs and suggestions.

1. Porn purveyors hide behind the First Amendment and the courts have agreed. It is legal everywhere.

2. Viewers cannot be held liable for the content of the sites.

3. You can get in a heap of trouble for knowingly accessing illegal porn. It is almost impossible to "accidently" enter these sites. But the odds of getting caught are fairly high. The FBI has set up stings and caught some folks though.
