What is the name of your state? OR
I was able to get my late filing penalties removed after calling into the IRS and explaining my situation, so now I must pay the interest but I forgot to ask the IRS lady on the other end what to do with slip at the bottom of the notice they sent me, the one that you're meant to send back with the check. The slip still has the old balance due written on it, I don't want to confuse whoever I'm sending the money into so should I just cross it out and write the interest due on the slip instead? Or send it in a plain envelope, perhaps with a letter explaining that I talked to an IRS service Representative over the phone and was told that I would recieved an abatement? 2006 was my first filing year
