I'm in the state of Minnesota, married for 11 years. If I get a legal seperation vs divorce can I change my tax status to single w/dependants?

If you have dependent children who are living with you, you can file Head of Household as long as your husband does NOT live in the home. The criteria for eligibility for this filing status is contained in your income tax booklet. You most likely qualify, and it's a much better filing status.
