What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Kansas My 16 year old daughter has 3 more months on probation for hitting me and drug use. She has started using marajhuana again. I grounded her for skipping school and bringing marajhuana into our home. She didn't like the consequences and left home. She is staying with some friends from FB but I have not been able to locate her. She has attended some school this week. Should I call her in as a runaway and if I do what will her consequence be? Will the police really find her and make her stay home. So far the leagal system has not been much help to me charging me hundreds of dollars, with no real fear put into my daughter. Any advice?

If she's on probation, call her PO and let him/her know what's going on.

**A: call the police and file a run away report. By letting her get her way, you are just an enabler. Take a strong stand no matter the consequences.

Okay, I will call Monday and find out who to talk to. It was unsupervised so that she could spend last summer with her father in a another state. You did not answer my questions. Is it because it is all up to the probation officer and judge to decide what to do with her? That would make sence now wouldn't it? Well that's my next step then, thank you.

I don't want to be an enabler, that is my fear. I want to do what is best for her. Take a strong stand is what I do want to do but at the same time I don't want to get us in so much legal bills that I cannot take care of my other children. on the other hand I will not let her endanger my other children by bring drugs into our home and drug type poeple either. Should I have the locks changed? She has been coming home while I'm at work?
