Temp. Protective Order - Bio. Father not Notified

I found out recently that my ex-wife filed a Temporary Protective Order against her recent ex-husband for him hitting her. I have Joint Legal Custody. They reconciled before they finally got divorced. I was NEVER notified about this and my daughter ended up living with him a month later without me being any wiser. Don't I have a right to know if my daughter's custodial parent files that type of order, so that I have the choice to take her out of that environment? Please help!
