What is the name of your state? ca
I want to request a temporary change of custody. We currently share 50-50 custody with my X as primary custodian. I went to my childs therapist and she argees that my child should be with me and visit mom. My childs therapist likes the new schedule I proposed and said I should discuss the new schedule I want with my X.
Here's my question. Should I tell my X up front that the therapist likes the idea of a change, when I know that my X will want to fight this in court anyway? or Should I just try not to show my cards too early and wait until we are in mediation and bring up the therapist liking my proposed schedule?

Mom has primary Custody .

Isn't she involved already ?
Doesn't she have access to records , and knowledge of therapy ?

Sooner or later this issue will be brought up . If this is something you want to do and would be for the best interest of the child , speak to her about it privately ( not in front of the child ).

Remember children Love both Parents.

Just because a therapist recommends something, that doesn't mean it automatically will happen.

All circumstances need evaluation .

I know my daughter loves both of us. I would never even try to deny my daughter the right to both parents. However, there are a lot of issues in this case. new s/dad, move away, and possible abuse by new s/dad. Not to mention several cps reports filed by teachers and doctors about moms family.
Mom knows our daughter is in therapy, because she used to take her before moving away.
I have never and would never discuss this type of issue in front of my child.
justed wanted to know if I should show my cards early or hold 'em until mediation?
Mom puts up a fight over every little change, and demands mediation at the drop of the hat.
