hello. i am a 20 engaged woman in kentucky. this is kind of confusing, so i will make it as simple as i can. four years ago, my fiancee had a son. at the time he and the babys mother were not married, and due to incompentancy (mental) of the mother, they gave the child up to her mother for temporary custody. they later got married and were working on the conditions needed to get their son back. his ex was later arrested on a domestic violence charge (agianst him, she was very violent), and they are going through a divorce. the grandmother, ex wife, child, and an uncle all live in an apartment inside of a foster home where the grandmother works. how do my fiancee and i go bout getting custody back of his son. grandmother is allowing NO visitation and no contact with the son at all after divorcing her daughter. please help!!

You can petition the court for temporary custody or for an order of visitation. Grandma can't deny your fiance visitation just because he divorced her daughter. People can be so darn vindictive. Bet Grandma didn't know her daughter was being violent. Bet Grandma heard a totally different story and is now mad and taking it out on your fiance. Who loses in the end - the child of course. People are so stupid sometimes. Go to court. You can file the paperwork yourself without an attorney.
