What is the name of your state? california, we are an office on the 2nd floor and had a water leak in the bathroom, the tenant below us received water damage to one of his machines. His insurance covered all but a $2000 deductible. Are we lliable for the $2000 or should the owner or management co pay?

The landlord may have liability, and if you have insurance, your company may have an obligation to pay. There is another issue, as their insurance company has, via subrogation, rights to the to go after you for the FULL damage.
