I live in New York and a young living as a "tenant" in my home. He recently bought a car that is not insured or registered at this time and is in need of repair. Am I required to let him park this vechicle on my property even thought it is not driveable at this time. Are there any direct laws that address this matter. He claims that he spoke with the local police and they told him that as long as he pays rent, he can park his car on the property. Do I have to allow my property to become a junk yard?
Thanks for any info...

well NO its your house and he is a tenant, you should always have a lease that states all the details, like only cars that are registed and running will be allowed to park in the driveway.....tell him to park it on the street...

AND DONT FALL FOR THIS.....if there is alternate side of the street parking,in your area, then he will probably get tickets for not moving the car to let the street sweeper by.

Or give him a 30 day notice to vacate your apartment, or have the car running insured and registered and you will let him stay.

That should light fire under his butt!
